Test Equipment for Automotive Restraint Systems

Acceleration Test Stand for Safety Belt Retractors Type GAP-NG1

The Acceleration Test Stand GAP-NG1 makes it possible to conduct all necessary tests for development and qualitity control of Safety Belt Retractors and similar safety systems. Acceleration tests can be performed with different acceleration profiles in the modes "vehicle-sensitive" and "webbing-sensitive". In the mode vehicle-sensitive the acceleration of an accident is simulated. It is measured at which acceleration the SBR blocks safely. The acceleration profiles, i.e. the starting ramp and the level are defined in standards. In the test mode "webbing-sensitive" the webbing is pulled out the stationary SBR with an accelerated movement. It is measured at which acceleration of the webbing the SBR blocks safely

Economy
The acceleration test stand GAP-NG1 is distinguished by easy and quick operation. It fulfills the requirements of a good economy in testing and quality control through a high degree of automation. After mounting the SBR and entry of the test parameters the test-stand can perform a test sequence automatically. During the test no supervision or control is necessary. The high economy of the system results from the short mounting time of the specimen and the high repetition rate of shots.

Technical description
The Acceleration Test Stand GAP-NG1 consists of a test-sled guided by prismatic rails. The test-sled is driven by an electric linear motor and a digital control system. On the test-sled is a motordriven rotor disk, on which the specimen is mounted. The values of stroke, belt extraction force and the position of the rotor disk are measured by electronic sensors. The test-sled, the linear motor and the test accessories are mounted on a steel frame.
